Chefs Table at Pizza Express

It all started when I got the invite for the chef's table from pizza express after winning an Instagram contest which i never thought i would win!
I saw my name tagged in an instagram post by PizzaExpress. My joy knew no bounds!
I got call from pizza Express and they told me the further details about the venue,date, timings etc. I had to choose two friends of mine who could accompany me to the chef's table event they said. Errgh...it was the most difficult job to choose 2 friends from plenty of friends. First of all i asked Gaurav Deo who is my best friend and also a foodie! We went to Pizza Express,Colaba before. He couldn't join because of his exams(Engineer students,exams in month may ..wierdo university). I really want him to come over for this. No worries.. Next time for sure.
Then i asked Sarvesh who heard about pizza express from me before and he wanted to visit this place badly.
I called him and he was ready on one foot. Next i asked Shantanu... He agreed.
Most difficult job done!
We left for the venue. During the transit i saw the T2 terminal of Mumbai Airport which was looking totally world class grade.
We reached there 10mins early ,coz its better to get early than being late.
The Pizza Express's interiors was superbly made.
The manager there welcomed us and gave us a seat. We were first one's to reach there. Then one more winner accompanied us .
The pizza express relations manager introduced himself and told us to wait. I got the wifi password of the Restaurant from the manager and started to click pics and post tweets(yeah!!thats me).
Soon other winners joined us . We were served our welcome drinks
The Head chef Soham (the guys in strips are called pizzaiolo ) introduced himself and told us about the restaurant chain, it's history and secret behind the amazing interiors.
He then stated to tell about the ingredients & dough they use. Those doughs are not made at the restaurants , they are actually brought from the central kitchen of pizza express. Ingredients they use in doughs were secret. Also the sauce they use were imported from the main branch of pizza express.
Her showed us how they make the pizzas and showed us some cool tossing tricks with the dough.
They then served us
Pomodoro pesto
Apollo,
Romanian,
Cipolla caramallata con Nocci
,Padana ,
American Hot
(little wierd names to spell)
The taste of the pizzas were typical Italian type. You will find the olive oil smell with garlic. Not too spicy, bit sour.Cheese was not overdosed .The toppings had their own flavour.
Then was the time to make our own pizzas. We were given the dough. Stenching the dough, applying the sauce, decorating with the toppings we made the pizza which went to the huge oven.
Lastly we were served the dessert of choco lava cake which was brilliant.(stuffed up too much!!)
Chef Soham announced to our surprise that our pizza won the best pizza of the day (thanks to my creativity! *winks*).
And thus the event ended with some amazing experience!
